Hipster Redux. AKA bikesnobpgh. AKA dude wearing TT helmet in town.

So Amy and I were in the car yesterday and she was like "is that dude wearing a time trial helmet?" So like an old couple in a national park that had just spotted a deer, we pulled over. Sure enough this dude was rolling down Friendship Ave rocking a TT helmet with built windscreen. Lucky for us, he had to take a phone call (have you ever seen somebody in a TT helmet talk on a cell phone? NOW YOU HAVE)...

Amy said that I was not allowed to post it to FB/Twitter/Blog. She is maybe the nicest person alive and would feel bad if somebody was made fun of in public. However, I am going to post it, and tell the dude to own it. There is a guy who rides around with a bike helmet that he turned into a Devo helmet, which I freaking love. So if this dude wants to be known as the dude with the LAS aero helmet with tinted visor, I am simply helping his cause without passing judgement.

Ironically, wearing a BikeSnobNYC shirt.

It looks like an old TT helmet, before they had to offer crash protection. Just a shell.

Awesome. I would wear it, if I had it.

oh man! this is me! this is too funny. I wear the tt helmet because I have rigid contact lenses, and the wind screen prevents dirt from getting in my eyes (which is insanely painful with these lenses). also it looks cool and makes me go .2% faster. it's an older helmet I got on craigslist a long while back for like $30, it's actually a little too small for me and I need to get another helmet with a windscreen soon. that is my girlfriend in the photo, you took this photo on her birthday; we are going to home depot, and it was her brother on the phone, telling us he couldn't go to kennywood that evening. and I love bikesnob, I won that shirt in a contest a couple of years ago. so there!

Colin,
that is siiick! what are the chances of you seeing this! Dude I am not sure that the helmet is ansi/snell. I think it may be just a a wind fairing.. which is about as much protection as a cycling cap. What a small world! Colin = dude in TT helmet.
